KNV wins Best Manufactured Home Estate in NSW two years in a row 3 August 2009 The Manufactured Housing Industry Association of NSW has announced the winner of its Awards of Excellence for 2009.
In the category of "Best Manufactured Home Estate in NSW" the winner was Kincumber Nautical Village for a second year in a row.
Never before has a village been granted this award 2 years running which makes the win even more exciting.
The response from the public has been fantastic and we have seen an increased interest in the homes and lifestyle because of the popularity of the award.
We have been overwhelmed by the amount of generous feedback that we have received from both our valued Residents and industry stalwarts alike on receiving such a prestigious award.
The award follows many years of hard work and co operation between management, staff, residents and local and state authorities; and is a tribute to our wonderful Managers Frank & Robyn Blunn, who after 11 years at the helm continue to strive to make Kincumber Nautical Village what it is today - the best in NSW.
The challenge ahead for us all is to now concentrate on making 'great' even 'greater' so the village can be recognised in the same way next year. While it certainly will be a challenge, if there is a village in NSW that can do - we can!
We plan to concentrate on the Gumnut Environmental Awards to improve our village by ensuring that we are contributing to the environment and having a positive impact on our neighbours and the local area.
The village is buzzing with excitement and looking forward to the 2010 awards.
Gumnut Environmental Awards Recognise Village 7 August 2009 Kincumber Nautical Village has just been awarded a Silver level Gumnut Awards at the recent industry awards night held at the Cypress Lakes Resort, Hunter Valley.
The Gumnut awards recognise a commitment to sound environmental values and are awarded to companies that have demonstrated this commitment by implementing an environmental management plan that encompasses 10 categories of best practice. These categories are used as a guide for the village to ensure that we are not only talking about the environment but also actively participating to bring about good environmental outcomes.
The Silver Gumnut was awarded to the village on the basis of both work completed to date, and our stated goals going forward.
This is a great achievement for the Village brought about by the recently formed Gumnut committee. In fact the formation of the committee was one of the undertakings that helped us achieve the award.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this achievement. This is another example of how communities can work together to bring about great outcomes for everyone.
New Resident's Profile 23 May 2010 Ever wondered what the suburb of Kincumber is like? Just ask a local resident like Noelene Watson.
Noelene recently built a new home at Kincumber and moved from her old address in Kincumber!
"I really love the area, I have family & friends all around me, so why should I leave?" said Noelene. "I have lived in Kincumber for 25 years and didn't want to leave. There's good shopping, transport is good and I don't even need to change my telephone number".
So what was it that convinced Noelene that Kincumber Nautical Village was for her? "The homes are all lovely, and when I found that I could have a beautiful 3 bedroom home, with all the trimmings I was sold! This way I get an easy lifestyle, a new home and the suburb I love".
Big Donations came from Big Hearts! 28 May 2010 Each year residents and staff at Kincumber Nautical Village enjoy a cuppa, devour numerous homemade treats, have a chat and raise funds for an important cause; a cure for cancer.
Resident, Bev Ryan was involved in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and knows how heart breaking cancer can be. “Cancer touches everyone’s life at some point whether it’s the individual, a friend or a loved one; this is a positive way of getting everyone together which raises money to support the one in two Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85,” Mrs Ryan said.
This year’s Biggest Morning Tea at Kincumber Nautical Village raised a whopping $1,600! Big congratulations to everyone involved!
Manager, Robyn Blunn, was thrilled with the roll-up and donations at this year’s cuppa for a cause. “Taking the time to spend with friends and have a cup of tea to raise funds is a small, but very positive and worthy contribution.”
All money raised at the morning tea goes directly to the Cancer Council of Australia and Robyn says the fundraising is the least we can do to help find a cure.

An extra special treat of hand massages
worked perfectly at the Morning Tea!
Another Nomination - Best Village - 3 years running 1 June 2010 We are delighted to hear that our nomination for Best Home Village in NSW 2010 has been accepted.
KNV has been the proud recipient of this award for an unprecedented 2 years in a row.
"The competition is always tough" said Frank Blunn who has managed the Village for the past 12 years; "We would love to win, but we also have to be realistic about the extraordinary quality of the other entrants in the category. We will continue to do what we do best and hope that the recognition of the industry follows. Either way, I'm proud of the great efforts of both staff and residents"
Resident's Recipe of the Month 1 June 2010 The Resident's Recipe of the Month for June was kindly given to us by Charmaine Sinclair. Famous for her mouth-watering slices (well, in Kincumber anyway), she has decided to share an old family favourite! She could easily take on the Master Chefs and win!

Open for Inspection 2 June 2010 If you are looking to relocate to the Central Coast and live at Kincumber Nautical Village then “come on down”. These are the wise words from Frank Blunn, Kincumber Nautical Village’s Manager who warmly welcomes anyone thinking of living here to come and see the Village and its facilities.
Frank has been proudly managing Kincumber Nautical Village, with wife Robyn, for over 12 years now. “It’s so important to visit the Village and experience it firsthand” Frank says. “You are part of a community here which is a great feeling and we’re very proud of that”.
The relaxed Central Coast lifestyle is often a big drawcard especially those moving from the hustle and bustle of Sydney. Residents, Bob and Josie Ronan moved to Kincumber 7 years ago from Western Sydney. “We’d always enjoyed our annual holiday here on the Coast so moving up here was certainly a dream come true”.
It took a bit of time for the couple to adjust to the relaxed way of living but now they love it. Josie adds “I loved the lifestyle but I also felt secure and welcome when we arrived which was important to me, it’s hard to tell unless you’ve been here”.
